Any of you know anybody that lacks common sense? Any of your family members? Anyone admit you lack common sense?
Some things just make sense. Here's one; Probably an urban myth, but I like the story: When NASA first started sending up astronauts, they quickly discovered ballpoint pens would not work in zero gravity. To combat the problem, NASA scientists spent a decade and $12 billion to develop a pen that writes in zero gravity, upside down, underwater, on almost any surface including glass and at temperatures ranging from below freezing to 300°C. ~~~ The Russians used a pencil.

Mercury Tracer just like mine! A friend of my children used to ride in my car (that my children were driving); I’m told how embarrassed he was to be seen in an old fuddy duddy car… I’m thinking, the wheels roll, there is roof over your head… you have none of those things ~ no wheels, no doors, he had no car! Buy a hot car to your liking, pay for the gas, pay for the insurance, pay for the upkeep, then get back to me. Don’t ride in my car if it doesn’t meet your standards! I have no dreams of getting better transportation, no dreams of improving the looks of my cars, I appreciate having a car, I make the most of my cars and my cars suit my purposes just fine! Ecc. 8:1-17: Yearning for Eternity: Everything’s gonna be all right; Carl Crouse; SACC; 9-9-119/11/2012 Henry Ford said, “When everything seems to be going against you, remember that the airplane takes off against the wind, not with it.” No matter how things look, everything gonna be all right. No matter how fierce the headwinds in your life, the plane will get off the ground. No matter how things look, with God on your side, nothing and nobody can stand in your way. (The sermon began with Pastor Carl demonstrating the same "trick" with eight quarters, and he dropped only one, too. The point is simply the need for how much a balanced life is needed. Silly Trick, of course, but have to have fun in church, don't you think?) You probably think I have too much time on my hands! What is worth your while is to spend an extraordinary amount of time keeping your personal life in balance. This is God’s way… everything in balance… I don’t know exactly what a balanced life looks like for you, we are all different, but I do know what it feels like… the internal peace, the sense of rightness, humility, not being too hard on yourself, and not being too soft on yourself…

At SACC we believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God. Every Sunday the worship service includes a message from the Bible. My words are an attempt to understand and apply the Bible to our daily living. I post weekly sermons and other biblical messages on this page. May you find meaning and hope as you read through each message and seek to hear God's voice. Leave a comment to ask questions or inspire others with your insights. Categories
