Clothesline Annual Rummage Sale April 24, '10

The blessings piled up through the rummage sale on April 24.  The community donated an incredible amount of items to benefit the Clothesline.  At SACC we know the community benefits by the presence of the Clothesline, but what the community may not understand is that we at SACC are in turn blessed by being a part of God's awesome work.  In Sumas, folks tend to have a few less resources as other places, so prices were set at a very reasonable level.  More than one person was reported to have said what a blessing to be able to take home pretty items without it costing a lot.  The set up the day before and the take down afterwards was smooth and easy. The right people showed up at the right time.  In the end, through hundreds of small sales and some donations, $675 was raised for the Clothesline.  Thanks to all who made it a wonderful day.  Enjoy a few photos.

The room was full for an evening of good food, fellowship and a heavy dose of fun.

A visit to the Frazier-Surrey Docks with Port of Hope Ministries

Port of Hope Ministries is a ministry of encouragement to seamen who transport cargo across the globe.  Most crews have at least a few Christian men.  Chaplain Phil Dufrene, who lives in Sumas, is the director. Pastor Carl went with Phil to the docks on January 6, 2010, to get a first hand view of what it is like.  Here are a few pictures to tell a little bit of the story.
