Ecc. 11:7-12:8: Yearning for Eternity: No Regrets; SACC; Sept. 30, 2012, Carl Crouse

Haunting regrets diminish the quality of life. // Regrets wear you down.//  Often regrets isolate you, because those who live compromised lives of regret live them inside their head. One person wrote:

Alone in my head,
I'm feeling so low,
You wont understand,
No one can know.

My eyes are so tired,
I can't sleep at night,
Your face haunts my dreams,
When I turn out the light

Deep down inside,
I know it's my fault,
So I'm just going to lock it,
Away in my vault.

Regrets…haunting… compromising… they age you… strip the joy from life.

Henry Ford said, “When everything seems to be going against you, remember that the airplane takes off against the wind, not with it.” No matter how things look, everything gonna be all right.  No matter how fierce the headwinds in your life, the plane will get off the ground.  No matter how things look, with God on your side, nothing and nobody can stand in your way.

Yearning for Eternity: A Balanced Life (Ecc. 7:15-25); Sept. 2, 2012; SACC; Carl Crouse

(The sermon began with Pastor Carl demonstrating the same "trick" with eight quarters, and he dropped only one, too.  The point is simply the need for how much a balanced life is needed.  Silly Trick, of course, but have to have fun in church, don't you think?)
You probably think I have too much time on my hands!  What is worth your while is to spend an extraordinary amount of time keeping your personal life in balance.  This is God’s way… everything in balance… I don’t know exactly what a balanced life looks like for you, we are all different, but I do know what it feels like… the internal peace, the sense of rightness, humility, not being too hard on yourself, and not being too soft on yourself…

Yearning for Eternity: True Riches; Ecc. 5:8-20; Aug. 12, ’12, Pastor Carl

Money is overrated!  You can be happy even if you don’t have enough money!   What we say and what we think are often two different things.  Our words say the right thing, we know money doesn’t buy happiness, but the secrets of our heart so often reveal a desire for more… This morning on Facebook I saw a posting from Rhonda Hill: “Happiness is when we realize how blessed we are for what we have.”

    Carl Crouse, Pastor

At SACC we believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God.  Every Sunday the worship service includes a message from the Bible. My words are an attempt to understand and apply the Bible to our daily living.  I post weekly sermons and other biblical messages on this page. May you find meaning and hope as you read through each message and seek to hear God's voice. Leave a comment to ask questions or inspire others with your insights.

In general, the previous Sunday's sermon will be posted by Tuesday afternoon.
