New, Fresh and Focused
We will be forever grateful for a rich heritage of faithful men and women who have loved the community of Sumas for generations. Their faithfulness and generosity is an inspiration that has been handed down to us. May we continue with the wonderful spirit of faith in God that has brought SACC to this point. Yet we are also blessed with new opportunities.
May we never lose the wonderful spirit of love and faithfulness that we have seen in our community from so many amazing people of faith that have come before us, yet be open to the Spirit to meet the challenges of a changing world.
The needs of people are the same yesterday and today, the gospel never changes, the example of love and hope is timeless, yet how we go forward is always new, always fresh, and must always be focused on Jesus Christ. Where SACC is headed is a new and exciting adventure because God is in this place!
Join us for a Chili Feed tonight at 6 p.m. Since it is a school night the evening will end early for families. You will enjoy the food, the people and the entertainment! Claudette Sterk will lead the singing ~ she has a wonderful Spirit and a joy for the Lord.
The Potluck Dinner is next Sunday, Mar. 2. What a great time to meet new people and catch up with friends. If you are able bring a main dish, dessert, salad or other favorite food to share. Just take your food to the kitchen before the worship service. If an oven is needed everyone works together to get the food ready.
If there were more than one path to salvation then it would totally negate Jesus' sacrifice on the cross, his life, his teachings. ~ Josh McDowell

“The last Women of Worth was an awesome evening with 11 women having a great time drawing hand art. What a creative awesome group. Rochelle was awesome and came and did childcare with three little ones that have missed her. NEXT MONTH, BY POPULAR DEMAND, "GAME NIGHT" is coming back. The Women will also have a dessert potluck. All women are invited on March 3.” ~ Shelly Simpson
Women’s Ministries is delighted to bless the families of Sumas with new babies by giving them a Welcome Baby Basket. If you know of newborn babies in Sumas let one of the ladies know, and they will gladly get the packet of diapers, blanket and other supplies to the family. We simply want to help celebrate the joy of the families.
The elders are meeting this Wednesday. SACC is in transition, which means the elders have many details to consider. Pray for the elders for wisdom and for the church that God will be glorified in all that we do.
Family Night Chili Feed Tonight! 6 pm NOTE: POSTPONED TILL LATER
Entertainment: Claudette Sterk!
By “Family” we mean the Church Family, or your own family ~ all the folks in your life you love or at least try to love. Everybody is included with all of their quirks and oddities and loveable ways. That means you’ll fit right in. So will your neighbors and friends and the goofballs that live under the same roof with you.
There will be a donation basket for Women’s Ministries for those who are able to make a contribution, but don’t stay away if you are not able to give anything!
Congratulations to Charitta and Devon. Adaylin was born Feb. 11, weighing 9 lbs. 3 oz. joining big sisters Angel and Avya.
The Christian Education Commission (CE) will be having a meeting after the worship service on March 9. Our desire is to become a team. CE includes leaders of small groups, the Princess Club, and Sunday School Teachers. Although there is a separate commission for youth, in this time of transition those interested in youth ministries are also invited. A family night and after school children’s program also may be developed, so anybody who feels God’s calling to work in either of those areas are invited. Talk to Pastor Jack if you have questions.
On March 8 there will be a picnic in the Sumas RV Park at 2:00 p.m. Talk to Jim or Melanie Jeffries if you want to help. Our desire is for the folks of the park to be blessed and have an opportunity for neighbors to meet neighbors over a good meal. Yes, it is winter, so it will be cancelled if the weather is bad, but more picnics will be coming. Anyone can go to the picnic!
A big thanks to Ian Glass for his work serving as our janitor. Each week he works for the building to be cleaned by Sunday morning.
Send Pastor Carl your e-mail address if you want to be on the list to have the bulletin sent to you each week ~ firstname.lastname@example.org.
Mid-week daytime fellowship. Whether you come every week or on occasion, you are welcome to join the Thursday 10:30 Bible Study. Enjoying the company of others is part of the deal.
Most Thursday evenings there is a small group of people from SACC and other friends from the community that meet for a meal at CrossWater Café. Chances are that if you go on a Thursday evening there will be people you will know.
