Next week’s “When I am Weak” message is from Judges 15: “How Anger Destroys You"
A small group is a great place to ask questions, pray for specific needs, and walk with others in your faith journey who are looking to grow spiritually. One small group is just beginning on Thursday evenings at the home of Chris Nims at 7:00. The WOW Gals is another group on Wednesday evenings. Sunday School, Seeds of Hope, Women’s Ministries, are more opportunities to connect with people.
The Women’s Fall rally for Women in our conference is coming on Nov. 5th at the Sedro-Woolly church. The SWCF ladies will be providing a lunch, and a place to have the meeting. The ladies from SACC are going to make a day of it. Go to the Women’s Ministry meeting tomorrow morning, Monday, Oct. 10, to hear how the plans are shaping up.
There are plans for a holiday craft bazaar in the SACC Fellowship Hall on Nov. 12. Details will shared as plans are finalized. Meanwhile, if you'd like to be a vendor and rent a table, please see Shelly or Christi.
The new storage unit near the Clothesline is a tool to make the Clothesline more efficient as we serve the needs of the community with a free clothing bank and paper products ministry. Some people came to worship last Sunday and did not even notice the new building in the corner. That’s good, because it is not meant to be a focal point. Thanks to all who helped get the unit in place and continue to work on the details of preparing it to be used
It is wonderful to see the SACC building used for a variety of purposes. We are stewards of the facility, desiring that God be glorified through the gatherings, and that people find wonderful fellowship through formal and informal activities. As a reminder, if you are part of a group that uses the building, be sure to leave it as clean as you find it. If the kitchen is used, for example, be sure to wash dishes and wipe down countertops.
The social hall was packed last week for the Potluck Dinner. We are confident that we have room for more, as we can easily set up the room a bit more efficiently with more tables. When the time comes, as we continue to see more families gather together, we can also transform other areas to make a place for more people. One of the most wonderful sounds in a church is the sound of babies and children!
On October 17, 1:00, the Clothesline will be open for the people of the Sumas Senior Center to come and see what the Clothesline is all about and to look for clothing for themselves or other family members. Some grandparents may want to find children’s clothes for grandchildren that can use a helping hand.
A Christmas in October offering for A.C. Missionaries will be received Oct. 30.
The prayer chain will be updated soon. Several prayer calls come in each month. Do you want on the list?
Live Concert: Palmetto State Quartet @ Faith Community Church, Lynden, Sat. Oct. 15, 6 p.m. $10 admission at door.
Changes coming in the Birthday listA master list will be included in the new Church Directory next month, instead of printing birthdays in the bulletin. Take a look at the birthday list posted on the wall in the fellowship hall and add your name if it is not included. If you prefer to not have your birthday published cross your name out.
